Just got it and read the first chapter- it was great! I already have two friends who want to read it when I'm done!
(Also, one of my friends is reading Ninth Square.)
Can't believe that it took "the Kiss" for me to hear about your work! BTW, I still haven't received my special order copy of it - are you sabotaging them all? HA! |

Wow! I wish there was a way I could figure out how to do just that.
I put the DVD on the other day, just to see if it was as bad as I remembered.
It was worse.
THE MUSIC SUCKS!
Makes me cringe.
And I didn't even get to the Billy Zane ad libs. |

I finished "Second Greatest..." last night - it was wonderful! I've already loaned it out to the first person on the list of friends that want to read it.
I think that our minds are alike - (whether that's good news for you or not? . ) Anyway, can't wait to see the film. I've now read some bios on Chaplin, too. I'm sorry to say that I didn't know anything about the man, to speak of...
Anyway, great story - and I think that even my co-worker who is the wife of a Southern Baptist minister is going to read it!
If you ever need a character to put in one of your books - there was a politician here in Oklahoma that was a wonderful man - who fought the "good" fight where the NRA, environmental problems, etc. is concerned. His name was Mike Synar - and he died of brain cancer about 10 years ago. Surprisingly to the rest of the world, there are quite a few liberal democrats here in Oklahoma - we're just being overshadowed by the wacked-out religious right! We just haven't had a good leader since Synar died. (He actually was defeated, primarily because of the NRA's money and lies in his last election - they took out billboards that said "Don't ban guns, ban Synar") -
I just did a search on Synar and not much comes up except his work to legislate youth smoking - and a lifetime achievement award from Taxpayer group. However, he was instrumental in first bringing attention to Tar Creek - which is one of the 10 worst polluted sites in America - and also, he was the leader of a campaign finance reform group right before he died.
Now, I've depressed myself --Got to get back to work. |
